Biografie John Acquaviva

A inceput ca un clubber si fan al muzicii dance la sfarsitul anilor 70, cand fenomenul disco era in floare. In timp, John Acquaviva si-a transformat pasiunea in munca. A crescut odata cu evolutia muzicii, de la industrial la punk, apoi hip hop pana prin anii 80, astfel incat la inceputul anilor 90 a inceput s afaca parte din scena de club. Urmatorul pas a fost acela de a deschide un record label. Asa ca rezultatul a fost legendara casa de discuri Plus 8 alaturi de prietenul sau Richie Hawtin, label ce s-a impus prin sound-ul techno variat si plin de personalitate.

Un pionier al muzicii noi si al ideilor, John a fost unul dintre primii DJ care a sprijinit conceptul de muzica digitala in 2000. Mai intai s-a implicat foarte mult in lansarea conceptului Final Scratch, o alternativa a DJ-ilor care doreau sa pastreze tehnica old school, dar sa aiba acces la muzica online, in format mp3. Apoi John a facut parte din echipa care a fondat compania Beatport, unul dintre cele mai puternice magazine online de muzica.

John Acquaviva este de origine canadian. In vara acestui an a avut prima lui rezidenta intr-un club din Ibiza, Privilege. Rezidenta s-a intitulat Acquaholic, la fel ca si mix CD-ul pe care l-a lansat recent la casa de discuri Great Stuff Recordings. DJ dar si producator de muzica electronica, John a sustinut si inca sustine scena electro, atat prin productiile sale si remixurile, insa si prin promovarea unor artisti talentati.
