Ricardo Villalobos, noul Iisus Hristos

Astazi pe Resident Advisor au fost publicate doua clasamente interesante. Unul a fost cel legat de mixurile ultimilor 10 ani, sau mai exact compilatiile scoase la vanzare, mixate, din ultima decada, dar si un clasament al celor mai bune albume, in viziunea RA, lansate in cei 10 ani care tocmai s-au incheiat.

Ai spune ca atunci cand treci de la stadiul de blog semi-obscur, underground, facut pentru o anumita nisa, pentru un anumit gen de oameni, pentru iubitorii unui anumit stil de muzica, poti sa scrii ce vrei si despre ce vrei, pentru ca e clar de la bun inceput ca tu doresti si tintesti sa promovezi un anumit stil.

Fapt care nu poate fi contestat sau judecat in niciun fel. Traim intr-o lume libera, in care putem spune orice despre oricine, iar astfel de bloguri/site-uri sunt foarte utile pentru pasionatii de gen, dar si pentru cei care vor sa mai invete si altceva.

DAR, cand esti un site de renume international precum Resident Advisor, esti cumva obligat, deontologic vorbind daca vreti sa spunem asa, sa ai o obiectivitate cel putin decenta.

Atata timp cat pe site-ul respectiv se gaseste o baza de date plina cu toti artistii planetei, inclusiv artistii locali ai fiecarei tari, cat si artistii internationali din toate stilurile de muzica, de la trance la drumnbass, si atata timp cat recenziile de albume sunt si ele in mare parte nu axate doar pe un anumit stil, trebuie sa fii cat de cat, macar de bun simt, obiectiv.

Intelegem ca in cadrul premiilor RA, clasamentul DJilor arata complet diferit fata de oricare altlul din intreaga lume, pentru ca si userii RA au anumite preferinte muzicale, iar acel clasament este alcatuit din voturile oamenilor respectivi.

Apare un nou dar.

DAR, cand TU ca site care atragi zilnic mii de oameni interesati de stiri, aparitii noi, evenimente locale si internationale, oameni pasionati de aproape toate stilurile de muzica electronica alegi sa faci un clasament propriu, care reflecta viziunea de ansamblu asupra muzicii electronice despre care scrii zilnic si pe care o reprezinti cu drag si spor in fata intregii lumi, si cand tu deja esti formator de opinie si portalul numarul 1 in lume ca sursa de informare pentru intreaga planeta concentrata pe muzica de dans, cat tupeu si cata nedreptate sa ai, acordandu-i lui Villalobos titlul de realizator al celui mai bun album de muzica electronica din ultimii 10 ani pentru Alcachofa?

Villalobos e un DJ bun, mai pune si Nitzer Ebb din cand in cand iar asta il face un DJ onorabil pentru unii, si extraordinar pentru altii, a fost un producator stralucit pentru unii, si inca este genial pentru altii, iar Alcachofa este un album bun, incontestabil, chiar si anti-fanii Villalobos au recunoscut acest lucru.

Dar pana a fi mai bun decat Discovery-ul Daft Punk sau Dig Your Own Hole al The Chemical Brothers, nu credeti ca esti o cale lunga si anevoioasa? Nu credeti cumva ca nu exista nici macar un termen de comparatie intre Daft Punk si Villalobos?

Aceasta afisare a gusturilor personale ale celor aflati in spatele RA nu e cumva exagerata si nu cumva nu face altceva decat sa puna intr-o lumina proasta alti artisti, care cu siguranta si necontestat de nimeni au realizat albume, in ultimii 10 ani, indicutabil mai bune decat acest Alcachofa?

Aici discutam doar in termeni de comparatie, si in niciun caz de albumele de sine statatoare sau despre calitatile lui Villalobos de producator sau DJ. Discutam despre lipsa de obiectivitate a unui site care ar trebui sa incerce macar sa-si prezinte preferintele intr-un stil mai diplomat, nu in cadrul unui clasament vizibil nedrept

Daca ei pot face asemenea comparatii, si-l plaseaza pe Villalobos la acelasi nivel de productie cu Daft Punk, atunci aceasta comparatie ar trebui dusa pana la capat.

Daca Villalobos este la acelasi nivel cu Daft Punk, inseamna cumva ca Villalobos nu mai este underground? Villalobos e comercial? Pentru ca Daft Punk sunt comerciali. Villalobos nu mai este artistul care adora sa mixeze in cluburi mici si intime pentru a fi aproape de public? Il vedem cumva in piramida, cu beculete in spate? NU.

Villalobos este intr-o alta categorie de artisti, si acolo ar trebui sa ramana, pentru ca niciodata in istoria acestei lumi, Ricardo Villalobos nu va fi la acelasi nivel comparativ cu Daft Punk. E ca si cum l-ai compara pe Eminescu cu Bacovia, sau Bentley cu Ferrari, si lista poate continua.

Depeche Mode nu a realizat niciun album de 10 ani? Depeche Mode nu face muzica electronica? Depeche Mode nu sunt suficient de buni pentru a face parte din clasamentul RA?

Si aici nu vorbim despre trupa Daft Punk, vorbim despre o multime de artisti mentionati in top, care sunt pe locuri codase, precum Porishead-ul de pe locul 63, sau care nu sunt prezente deloc, vezi Massive Attack.

O varza si o ciorba din care rezulta ca Villalobos este mai tare ca Daft Punk, The Chemical Brothers, Fever Ray, Royksopp, LCD Soundsystem, Laurent Garnier, Bjork, The Boards of Canada, etc etc etc, si in curand o sa fie mai tare ca Mozzart si Bach, si chiar mai tare ca Picasso, iar daca ne gandim bine, Villalobos o sa fie mai artist ca Lonardo Da Vinci, iar Dan Brown poate sta linistit, pentru ca va avea despre cine sa scrie in vreo 200 de ani daca mai traieste, pentru ca, de fapt, Villalobos a inventat pentru prima data zborul, asta doar pentru ca asa vrea muschii bajetilor de la RA. A, si Depeche Mode nu exista, au murit acum 10 ani.

Practic, baietii l-au transformat pe Villalobos in Iisus Hristos, iar fara sa-si dea seama, i-au facut rau si lui Villalobos, care in niciun caz nu se vrea Iisus Hristos, dar si celorlalti artisti care niciodata, in viziunea RA, nu vor fi Iisus Hristos.
